Palestine and Egypt

A collection of photograph panoramas of Jerusalem, stereoviews of the Holy Land and Egypt, and a hand-held stereoscope, comprising:


Four photograph panoramas of Jerusalem


i) 3-part folding albumen print panorama of Jerusalem, on card mounts (overall 217 x 826mm.), captioned 'Panorama de Jerusalem' in the centre panel and negative numbers 298-300, [1880s]


ii) 3-part albumen print panorama of Jerusalem (270 x 1130mm.), laid down and framed, [1880s], faded and somewhat worn


iii) photochrom panorama of Jerusalem (187 x 630mm.), on a modern card mount, [1890s], slight surface wear


iv) folding printed photographic panorama of Jerusalem (overall 140 x 1250mm.), printed in Germany and published by Dormition Abbey, Jerusalem, folding into original printed card wrappers, printed key (in English, German, French and Italian) loosely inserted, [early twentieth century], minor wear at folds


Stereoviews


393 card mounted stereoviews (315 of Palestine and 78 of Egypt), including 100 views of Palestine by Underwood & Underwood in a book box (box worn), 52 'Old Testament Travels' by Underwood & Underwood in book box (box worn), 100 colour printed 'Holy Land Series' by T.W. Ingersoll, 7 by Bonfils, 2 by Frank Mason Good, 15 albumen by Francis Frith (c.1858), various dates and processes, from c.1858 to c.1920s, occasional spotting or minor wear


58 postcard stereoviews of the Holy Land, including some duplicates, many published by Léon & Lévy, some tinted, a few with slight creases
