Francesco Scaramuzza was an Italian poet and painter, best known for his illustrations of Dante’s Divine Comedy, a series of 243 works on board completed in 1876. He is also known to have painted a large number of frescoes in Parma, notably in the Biblioteca Palatina and the Museo Archeologico Nazionale.
