Faithful to his Italian roots, Gérald Genta was a great fan of football. He was a supporter of the Juventus of Turin. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that he decided to design a watch to honour his favourite team, using the iconic black and white striped jersey. This design is particularly interesting as it combines traditional with some more Genta elements. The piece features the idea of the central character using his body and an accessory, the arm and the ball in this case, to indicate the time. The case design and the bracelet are also very unique and typical of Genta’s imagination. Other aspects such as the crown or the rest of the dial are more traditional, demonstrating that the artist was still evolving to find his very personal style.
