The imagination of Gerald Genta knew no limit. One of his favorite exercises was to immerse himself in a theme, identify elements of it and design a watch incorporating them. Gérald Genta was avant-gardist when mixing different materials in his pieces. Similarly, he is also widely recognized for designing two-tone watches. He understood both the aesthetic appeal and the commercial opportunity, especially in America, behind it. In the design, it is really interesting to notice the extreme attention he paid to elegantly blending the white and yellow gold. The white gold central part of the bracelet touches the bezel at the beginning of a white gold part, hence further enhancing the dynamic of the piece. This momentum is accentuated by the movement of the tennis player’s arm that is also rotating in the same direction. The choice of using white and yellow gold matches the color scheme of the player, his racket and the tennis ball.
