A large French silver caster, Jacques Filassier, Paris, probably 1727/28
The octagonal body engraved with panels of scrollwork between guilloche and ovolo bands, the cover with bayonet fittings and pierced with foliate decoration, crested,
24cm., 9 ½in. high
734gr., 23 ½oz.
The work of Jacques Filassier is scarce: his mark has been noted on three further casters, a beaker and a covered beaker.
