Description

Sylvia Plath--Household objects


Three items:


i) Staved teak serving tray, 610 x 285mm, Jens Quistaard stamp on underside, Denmark, [c.1960s], paint stains and other marks, splitting, some loss to underside


ii) Cloisonné tray patterned with sprays of foliage in silver and bronze on a black background, 310 x 235mm, stained and worn 


iii) Commemorative enamel mug, for the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria, incorporating a portrait and a depiction of Windsor Castle, 100 x 87mm, 1897, design faded, extensively chipped 


The enamel cup (iii) was used by Plath to keep pens and was kept on her desk at Court Green in Devon.
