brightly painted and enamelled to each face with a scaly ferocious dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl, all above rocks and foaming waves and below a foliate scroll band, the base inscribed with the six-character mark in under-glaze blue within a double circle
Height 11.5 cm, 4½ in.
The box has been broken into approximately five pieces with associated further hairline cracks. Originally rivetted, these have been removed and the box repaired. There is a circa 7mm., wide chip to the inner flange.
