A blue and white censer and cover
transitional period, circa 1640's
of bombé form, decorated to the exterior with lotus blooms and scrolling foliages, the cover is similarly decorated with a pierced character of xiang, the base with an apocryphal six-character Jiajing mark
Width 12 cm, 4¾ in.
The glaze on the censer and cover has degraded consistent with burial at sea.
