FIRST EDITION, 3 volumes, 4to (339 x 275 mm.), 100 fine hand-coloured aquatint plates, after C. Wild, J. Stephanoff, R. Cattermole, W. Westall and G. Samuel, engraved by T. Sutherland, W. J. Bennett, R. Reeve, D. Havell, and J. Bailey, contemporary red morocco with gilt fanfare design, edges gilt, occasional minor marginal spotting to plates, covers slightly worn and spotted, head and foot bumped, joints starting to crack
An important collection of plates which provide a visual record of the royal palaces, particularly the interior design, furniture and decor, by one of the founders of the Royal Watercolour Society, William Henry Pyne.
