the iron bowl of three plates riveted together, the four-tier shikoro [neck guard] in black lacquer with blue lacing, the fukigaeshi [turnbacks] with take wa ni jumai sasa mon [bamboo grass within a bamboo ring crest] in gold hiramaki-e on a black ground, the maedate [forecrest] in the form of a vajra in gilt
