with the initial 'A' set with seed pearls, upon an onyx cabochon, with portrait miniature of Princess Alice of the United Kingdom verso, the reverse inscribed From Mama VRI 7th April 1879

Diameter approximately 22mm, hinge opens and closes securely. Chip to onyx visible on reverse (near hinge). Gross weight approximately 12 grams. Seed pearls with some unevenness to nacre. Overall condition good.
