oil on panel

unframed: 42.9 x 33.5 cm.; 16⅞ x 13¼ in.

framed: 65.5 x 55 cm.; 25¾ x 21⅝ in.

The panel is uncradled, flat and stable. The paint surface is dirty with a discoloured varnish. The network of craquelure has become more distinct in her headdress. There are a few discoloured retouchings visible, such as along the network of craquelure in her face. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms this, and reveals further very small and scattered spots of retouchings in the rest of the composition, as well as a few spots of more concentrated retouching in the black dress right above her hand.
