Seated Figure on Circular Steps

bronze

width (excluding wooden base): 32.5cm.; 12¾in.

height (excluding wooden base): 17cm.; 6½in.

Conceived circa 1957, the present work is from the edition of 9.

The present work is registered with the Henry Moore Foundation as LH 437 cast e.

There is minor pitting to the figure's back in line with the Artist's working methods and materials. Possible rounding to the lower left-hand corner of the steps. Some minor rubbing including to the figure's head and knees and to a few raised areas elsewhere. One possible accretion to the centre back of the steps. Some flecks of casting residue and one or two spots of oxidation and surface dirt largely to creviced areas.

The figure is affixed to the steps, probably with two bolts, and the steps appear to be adhered to the wooden base. The figure is very slightly loose to the steps.
