Diamond Necklace

Designed as a graduated line of claw-set old European- and old mine-cut diamonds on knife-edge links, length 14¾ inches, unsigned, numbered 016413, with French assay marks; circa 1910. With fitted box signed B. Noury, Mauboussin, Paris. The cover is applied with a silver serpent crest below a Marquis’s coronet as borne by Jean-Baptiste Colbert, Marquis de Seignelay (1619-1683), who held several senior political positions under Louis XIV.
