The bracelet with minor surface wear. Overall the watch is in very good condition.

Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and we do not guarantee the authenticity of any individual component parts since subsequent repairs and restoration work may have resulted in the replacement of original parts. The dial on this watch is sure to excite collectors. The 16520 is the last Daytona and indeed one of the final Rolex watches to include significant variations across a single reference, with differences in dial marking huge differences in importance and desirability. Featuring a ‘floating’ cosmograph signature along with an inverted 6 on the 6 o’clock subdial, it can be concluded that this dial belonged to the very first batch ever produced for the 16520 and is extremely rare and sought after, being one of the very first dials produced for the first automatic Daytona. The present example is definitely for the collector who wishes to own the rarest dial iteration of the 16520 in black.
