The story of Audemars Piguet unfolded in 1875 when two young and ambitious watchmakers Jules Audemars and Edward Piguet, aged 24 and 22 at the time, founded the company in Vallée de Joux, Switzerland. For some time, the two watchmakers worked closely together without formalizing their partnership legally. The trademark of Audemars Piguet was hence officially registered in the year 1882.
To pay tribute to the founder of the brand and for its hundred-year-old lineage of traditional watchmaking, Audemars Piguet launched the Jules Audemars collection in 1997.
The present lot compliments the traditional Jules Audemars case design with an elegant silvered engine-turned dial and visible 1-minute tourbillon regulator and a chronograph register. Cased in white gold, the watch is accompanied by an Audemars Piguet presentation box with outer packaging and Certificate of Origin (undated).
