Description
Two 'Scottish Pebble' vinaigrettes with gold or silver-gilt mounts, circa 1835
both upright, the first of stepped tapering form, the sides formed of ten lobed stripes of differently patterned Scottish hardstone panels, the lid applied with a faceted cairngorm cabochon, the wavy rim and collar engraved with foliate scrolls, centred by a small thumbpiece, the interior fitted with a pierced grille engraved with flowers, scalloped gold footrim; the second with silver-gilt mounts and similarly decorated, with twenty hardstone panels of different colours, the lid inset with a large smoky quartz cabochon
