in the Chinoiserie taste, formed from two cylindrical vessels separated by two winged mythical beasts to either side, moulded in low relief with bands of stylised foliage enriched in tuquoise on a dark-blue ground, impressd marks, shape 1624

10½ in. high; 26.5 cm.

Cover lacking. Both barrels have some slight restoration and retouching to chipping around the rim. This has been well executed, but the extent of any damage below the restoration is difficult to discern. The area of restoration extends approximately two inches down the length of the barrel.
