In the aftermath of the World War I, and after a promising start and a few solo exhibitions, Rudolph Ihlee left London for Collioure. Like Matisse or Derain at the beginning of the 20th century, Ihlee painted the sunny and teeming landscapes of the South of France and of the Mediterranean coast.

Au lendemain de la Première Guerre mondiale, après des débuts prometteurs et quelques exposition Solo, Rudolph Ihlee quitte Londres pour Collioure. Comme Matisse ou Derain au début du XXe siècle, Ihlee peignit les paysages ensoleillés et foisonnants du Sud de la France et de la côte méditerranéenne .
