2 volumes bound in 4, folio (414 x 268mm.), ruled in red, EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED with 213 engraved plates (29 double-page) from Pierre de Hondt's Figures de la bible (The Hague, 1728), contemporary navy morocco gilt with the arms of the second duke of Newcastle, Harleian-style outer border, spines gilt in compartments, gilt edges, bindings slightly faded, extremities very slightly rubbed


A FINE COPY OF THE BIBLE. The plates have captions in several languages including English and Hebrew, and the artists include G. Hoet, A. Houbraken and Bernard Picart.
