porcelain with manganese and white glaze, inlaid grid designs and concentric rings of sgraffito

with the artist’s cypher

4 ⅝ in. (11.7 cm) high

8 ⅛ in. (20.6 cm) diameter

Overall in very good condition. A magnificent fusion of porcelain, white and manganese glaze and sgraffito designs, the present lot displays wonderful luster when viewed in person. The porcelain surface presents with very minor irregularities inherent to the making and to the artist’s handmade technique. One edge of the rim presents with an extremely minute nick, which appears to have been intentionally disguised by a small luster glaze spot. The underside of the bowl presents with some minor residue of old paper labels which is not visually distracting. An exceptional work with stunning decorations and sumptuous glaze application.
