The present lot is with a case in 18k yellow gold.

The reference 685 was introduced by Patek Philippe in the late 1930's and produced in very limited quantities until about 1950. The present lot features highly revered qualities celebrated by Patek Philippe collectors including a Sterns Frères dial, a whimsical Wenger case, and a very rare movement caliber. Indeed, the caliber 13 130 was featured in less than 200 pocket watches during its manufacture.

To the best of our knowledge, only 30 pieces are known in yellow gold. Of these pieces, a very select number are assumed to be double signed by the famed Caracas retailer, Serpico y Laino, such as a the present lot.
