circa 2nd Century A.D.


his centrally parted hair bound in a fillet passing over the forehead and surmounted by twin clusters of ivy berries, two long strands of hair falling over the now missing shoulders, the back carved flat and with three lead tenons; plaster restorations to nose, chin, right cheek, and cluster of berries.

Height 18 cm.

Painted plaster restorations, now much worn, to chin, proper right corner of mouth, front of nose, proper right cheekbone, and proper right cluster of ivy berries. Surface weathered overall. Three iron tenons in back. Drilled on mounted on a wooden base painted black
