Known as the prix de Sèvres, this presentation cup and cover was designed by Edmé Couty. It was presented as an award of excellence to the premier laureate group of decorative arts at the Exposition Universelle de Paris, 1878. A design drawing of the form is retained in Sèvres archives, inv. no. 2012.1.5539.
