circular, the white cavetto painted with books, a globe, paper and a cog, the borders with varicoloured open and closed books, the top inscribed ‘learn to read and write’ and the bottom with ‘easier to live’ in Russian, marked on the underside with blue hammer, sickle and cog dated 1920
