2 parts in one volume, 8vo (226 x 136mm.), additional engraved title-page, letterpress title-page with engraved vignette, numerous fine engraved head- and tailpieces mostly designed by Marillier, 1 engraved plate, engraved title to part 2, with an AUTOGRAPH LETTER BY DORAT and an engraved portrait of the author after Denon bound at the front, later tan morocco gilt in period style by Capé, spine gilt in compartments with morocco lettering-pieces, gilt edges
The undated three-page autograph letter is addressed to M. Darnaud in Paris, most likely Dorat's friend the writer François-Thomas-Marie de Baculard d'Arnaud (1718-1805).
