The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals no evidence of retouching. There are minor accretions to all four corners and a small pigment loss (approx. 1cm wide) to the left part of the lower edge beneath the figure's hand. There are some fine and stable vertical lines of craquelure to the right of the composition, and some fine lines to the chest and arms of the figure. There are small spots of pigment losses in the background to the upper right corner. This work is in overall good condition.
