Overall in very good condition. The silver surfaces present with some light oxidation and tarnish which can be professionally polished at the client’s discretion. The silver with light surface scratches and scuffing throughout consistent with use. The lacquered metal includes black and red surfaces and present very well overall with extremely minor discoloration and wear consistent with age. The parchment and shagreen surfaces present with expected wear and resulting variations in color consistent with age and use, as well as some minor losses to the edges. The eggshell pieces retain their original brightness and complex structure and present with rich and textural tones that range from white and off-white to burnt sienna. This piece has been inspected under blacklight and shows no apparent evidence of prior restoration. A truly exquisite object epitomizing the use of sumptuous materials in the Art Deco period.
