Property from a New York Private Collection
WORKSHOP OF ANTHONIE VERSTRAELEN
(Gorinchem 1594 - 1641 Amsterdam)
oil on copper
5¾ by 8⅜ in.; 14.6 by 21.3 cm.
The copper plate is flat. The picture is slightly dirty with a somewhat opaque and shiny varnish, but probably has not been restored in years. UV light reveals a few isolated areas of retouching in the sky, but the foreground and figures have remained largely untouched. There may be a couple of areas of retouching which do not fluoresce. The picture is offered unframed.
