A PAIR OF IRON-RED 'DRAGON' CUPS
GUANGXU MARKS AND PERIOD
清光緒 礬紅彩雲龍戲珠紋盃一對 《大清光緒年製》款
each with deep rounded sides rising from a short straight foot to a gently flared rim, painted to the exterior with two five-clawed dragons vying for flaming pearls above cresting waves, the base with a six-character reign mark in underglaze-blue

Diameter 5.9 and 5.8 cm, 2⅜ and 2¼ in.
Formerly in a Nordic gentleman's collection, acquired in Beijing in the 1950s (by repute).
