4to (8 7/8 x 7 in.; 224 x 178 mm, bottom edge uncut). Publisher's blue cloth over pictorial pink boards, paper spine label, pictorial pink dust-jacket, glassine jacket; some short marginal tears to the glassine. Half blue morocco slipcase, chemise.


First American edition, no. A of 200 copies on large paper signed by Milne and by the illustrator, Ernest H. Shephard. This copy is further inscribed with a poem and signed by Milne to his American publisher, 13 December 1926, on the front free endpaper: "Congratulations, dear Macrae, | Upon the very lovely way | That you have done this book. | I only wish it were indeed | As beautiful a thing to read | As you have it look."
