4to (8 3/4 x 7 in.; 222 x 178 mm, unopened). Publisher's vellum gilt, overlapping edges; covers and endpapers lightly foxed. Half blue morocco slipcase, chemise.
First edition, no. 14 of 20 copies on Japanese Vellum signed by Milne and by the illustrator, Ernest H. Shepard. This copy is further inscribed with a poem and signed by Milne to his American publisher, January 1928, on the front free endpaper: "A gallant Knight is John Macrae— | He takes me on his pillion, | And round and round the U.S.A. | He dashes on his headstrong way, | Until there dawns the glorious day | When he can sheath his sword and say, | 'Well, Now We Are Six Million.'"
