The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes, Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, firstname.lastname@example.org, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
This work is in beautiful condition. It is unlined and still on its original stretcher. There is slightly raised cracking in the sky, but this is not very noticeable. The painting is noticeably dirty with a very yellowed varnish. This work can easily be cleaned. No damages or retouches are apparent. There is a slightly scruffy quality to the paint layer in some of the figures in the upper center, but this is original.
