Why Pre-Raphaelite Hair is All the Rage

By Sotheby's

The Pre-Raphaelite look is back.

London hairdresser Blue Tit recently partnered with the National Gallery in a photoshoot inspired by the art of the Pre-Raphaelites.

Coinciding with the ongoing exhibition ‘Reflections: Van Eyck and the Pre-Raphaelites’, which is open until 2 April, the shoot took place inside the gallery itself, with hair styled by Blue Tit co-owner Perry Patraszewski and stylist Declan Haworth.

First opened in East London in 2011, Blue Tit has salons across London and customers can request a pre-Raphaelite hairstyle at any of their branches.

The on-trend look can also be seen in Dante Gabriel Rossetti’s beautiful painting Lady Lilith, which led Sotheby’s Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art sale in July 2017, fetching £680,750.

Sotheby’s next auction of Pre-Raphaelite art in London will be held on 12 July. For a complimentary and confidential valuation, please contact one of our experts.
