This historic auction was a milestone within an entire season of digital innovation, as Sotheby’s introduced a suite of new online features that delivered the full auction experience. The success of our digital innovations as well as the triumphant sale results proved the growing demand in the art world for new digital tools.
This season, Sotheby’s Hong Kong will partner with ArtPro to livestream auctions via their app, which will enable users to experience the thrill in the saleroom with just one tap of the phone. ArtPro is a bilingual platform providing online preview of auction catalogues, an auction price database, market reports, in-depth analysis of artworks and current trends and livestreams of auctions around the world – all under a single app. Another advantage of using ArtPro is its pioneering augmented reality function that will allow users to preview beautiful painting in place, before even placing a bid.
