Biography

Elizabeth Beaman, Senior Vice President, Head of Southern California leads the Los Angeles team and gallery program and oversees strategy and business development for the Southern California region. Elizabeth has over two decades of experience working with collectors and is a specialist with a focus on 20th century art and a particular depth in American Art.

Elizabeth began her career in 2000 at Sotheby’s in New York where she worked as a specialist in American Paintings and rose to the rank of Vice President. In 2011, she joined Christie’s and ultimately was appointed Head of the American Art department.  During her tenure she led historic collection sales, curated private selling exhibitions, partnered with important institutions on their deaccession plans and conducted major private sales.  In 2018, Beaman re-located to Los Angeles on a bi-coastal basis and embarked on her career as an independent advisor, assisting collectors and estates throughout the United States with collections management, appraisals, private sales, and auction consignments. She rejoined Sotheby’s based full-time in Los Angeles in 2024. She holds a B.A. in Fine Arts and French from Vanderbilt University.
