Biography
Dennis Harrington has more than thirty years experience in the art world, starting his career in fine and decorative art curatorial roles at the Ashmolean Museum and Christ Church Picture Gallery in Oxford, England. He then worked for over fifteen years as an antique furniture dealer in London and Paris, primarily as a director of Pelham Galleries, where he managed two showrooms and annually exhibited at international fairs including TEFAF Maastricht, the Paris Biennale, Grosvenor House and Masterpiece London, and the Park Avenue Armory Show in New York. He joined Sotheby’s in New York in 2016 to head the English and European Furniture Department, where he regularly organises live and online auctions of English and European furniture and decorative arts and collaborates closely with the international team on important single-owner sales including the Zilkha, Tavitian and Buatta collections in New York and the Hôtel Lambert Al-Thani Collection in Paris.
