Alessandra Merrill

Alessandra Merrill joined the Sotheby’s Silver Department in 2013. She has been closely involved in the sales of Property from The Collection of Roy & Ruth Nutt: Highly Important American Silver, the Iris Schwartz Collection of American Silver, the Collection of Mrs. Paul Mellon, the Collection of Nelson & Happy Rockefeller, the Wolf Family Collection, and Sydell Miller’s Legacy of Beauty. Previously, she was with the Morgan Library & Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she was a research assistant for the museum’s comprehensive catalog, Early American Silver in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bard College and a Master’s degree in the History of Decorative Arts and Design from the Parsons School of Design in collaboration with the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum in New York. She is also an alum of the prestigious Attingham Summer School in England.
