T he Tableaux 1400-1900 sale will present an exceptional group of works from the late 15th to the early 20th century.
The French school of the 17th and 18th centuries will be highlighted by a delightful sketch by Chardin, a major rediscovered work by Blanchard, a painting by Philippe de Champaigne, an important work by Gabriel de Saint-Aubin, a small marine by Vernet and a rediscovered landscape by Antoine Watteau, probably painted en plein air.
The Italian Renaissance is also well represented, with important paintings from the 15th and 16th centuries, including an unpublished Virgin and Child by Lorenzo Costa, a small Faun by Cima da Conegliano and an important panel by Arcangelo di Jacopo del Sellaio.
The Old Master Paintings section is completed by a group of high-quality Northern works by Van Goyen, Van Ostade, Keirincx, Pieter Neefs and Teniers, from a private French collection.
A seductive and mysterious Sorceress by Lecomte du Noüy opens the section dedicated to 19th-century works, which also includes works by Corot, Degouve de Nuncques, Bastien-Lepage, Emile Claus and Anto Carte.

Provenant d’une collection privée française, un ensemble d’œuvres nordiques de grande qualité, composée d’œuvres de Van Goyen, Van Ostade, Keirincx, Pieter Neefs ou Teniers vient compléter la section des tableaux anciens.
Une séduisante et mystérieuse Sorcière de Lecomte du Noüy vient ouvrir la section dédiée aux œuvres du XIXe siècle, qui comprend également des œuvres de Corot, Degouve de Nuncques, Bastien-Lepage, Emile Claus ou encore Anto Carte.
