his large almond-shaped eyes with incised irises and drilled pupils, the eyebrows incised, his short wavy hair falling in crescentic locks over the forehead; chin, nose, both ears and sides of hair restored.

Height 58.4 cm.

European private collection, circa 17th/18th Century (based on restoration techniques)

The present portrait appears to be stylistically close to a Severan portrait head at Petworth: J. Raeder, Die antiken Skulpturen in Petworth House, 2000, pp. 168ff., no. 58, pl. 74 (https://arachne.dainst.org/entity/1084632).
