Original watercolour illustration produced for the 1940 series of American Weekly covers, 'Seven Tales of Arthur's Court', published 11th February 1940. The other tales illustrated were: Arthur finding Excalibur, Morgan steals the sheath of Excalibur, The Death of Galahad (see lot 281), Lancelot and the four Queens (see lot 282), Merlin trapped under the Rock, Lancelot and Agravain (see lot 283)
