There are several references which have become archetypes of the Omega Speedmaster, one being the 145.022, a reference which featured the lyre lugs and asymmetric case. In one watch, you can see very little changes from the late 1960s through today’s production.

The Omega Speedmaster Ref. 145.022 was the first Speedmaster housing the new caliber 861 movement that was introduced in 1968 as the successor of the caliber 321. The new movement ticked at 21,600vph and thus was more accurate than the caliber 321 that ticked at 18,000vph.

This particular example was made in 1981 and features an early CRS, for Charles René Spillman, case. It  is presented on behalf of his original owner who has cherished it for many years.
