THE DUKE OF MANCHESTER COPY, 8vo (161 x 101mm.), with two errata leaves at the end (apparently not in the Pepys copy), early manuscript notes at the beginning (in Latin) and on the blanks Aa7-8 (in English), nineteenth-century calf, gilt edges, marbled endpapers, some spotting and soiling to prelims, extremities slightly rubbed


The authorship of this defence of Mary as been attributed to John Leslie and François de Belleforest, but was plausibly a collaborative affair.
