An unusual gold and enamel snuff box, probably Hanau, circa 1810

rectangular with rounded corners, the finely matted lid centred with a swan spreading its wings chased in high relief, standing on rockery on top of a protruding lobed pedestal of polished gold and blue enamel, flanked by three blossoming flamingo lilies, within a fluted gold and blue enamel border, the sides and base decorated with chased sunflowers on a sablé ground, the corners embellished with tied geometrical ornaments, apparently unmarked

rectangulaire aux angles arrondis, le couvercle finement amati centré d'un cygne déployant ses ailes ciselées en haut relief, debout sur un rocher au sommet d'un piédestal en saillie en or poli et émail bleu, accompagné de trois lys flamant, à l'intérieur d'une bordure cannelée en or et émail bleu, les côtés et la base décorés de tournesols ciselés sur un fond sablé, les anglesornés de motifs géométriques, apparemment non poinçonnée
