rectangular with cut corners, all sides decorated with wavy engine-turned bands framed by chased foliate strapwork on a sablé ground, the angels with chased flowerheads, the interior of the lid with an engraved inscription reading: 'mad about the boy’, rubbed maker’s mark, 8.4 cm., 3 1/8 in. wide; overall weight 100 grams, 3.21 oz.
