Worked in silk threads on a linen ground, depicting insects and a basket of fruit floating over a woman by a well with parrot and a castle-like building on a stepped terrace lawn with a shepherd with goats, recumbent stag, and geese, above the stitched words Ann Heyl Her Work Made In The Year 1789, all within an undulating floral border.
