The New York edition of Cook's first voyage.
This is the first expanded edition of Cook printed in America, preceded by a single volume edition in 1783 and an abridged edition in 1792. The expanded text includes the Life of Captain James Cook at the end of volume IV. The plates in this edition were reproduced from the folio atlas of the 1784 English edition. This set lacks the world map not called for in the plate list and often wanting.
