An impressive sancai-glazed qilin
17th century
modelled standing foursquare with head held high, caparisoned with a tasseled saddle supporting a cylindrical vase, the saddle carpet draping in loose folds down each side, the mythical beast finely detailed with a curling mane, a bushy tail and protruding fangs, applied overall with a fine green and blue glaze with yellow highlights, wood stand
