"All issues of The People's Rights are extremely scarce" (Cohen). This collection of campaign speeches was printed cheaply after the Liberal success in the General Election of December 1909 - hence the delicate condition of the few surviving copies. Churchill stood as a member of the Liberal Government and the title is a reference to Lloyd George's controversial and important "People's Budget" of 1909.
