volume 1 only (of 2), 8vo (158 x 95mm.), Greek text, with blank leaves Δ4, Φ6 and ΗΗ6, woodcut Aldine device on final verso (otherwise blank), modern half green calf, edges with traces of old gauffering, repairs and wormholes, occasional staining


EDITIO PRINCEPS of the plays of Euripides, this volume containing ten of the eighteen included in the full edition (though four had been printed previously in Florence, before 18 June 1495, and only seventeen are mentioned on the title-page). The text was prepared by John Gregoropoulos.


This copy shows extensive use by a contemporary scholar (and scribe) of Greek.
